Structural Steel

Gaz Steel Fab Inc. has had a good history of serving the people of San Diego, CA, getting the best structural steel services in the area. From the buildings people visit, to the homes they live in, to the roads they travel, the structural plate is a multi-purpose construction material that provides fabrication versatility.  Structural steel is 100 percent recyclable and one of the most reusable materials in the world.

It is a regulated category that has to meet industrial standards.

In various countries, a wide range of structural steel grades is available, with the most popular being ASTM A572 and ASTM A36. These grade steels along with other structural steel grades are mainly used for building frames of buildings and bridges. These are mostly made from raw materials or can be manufactured from recycling old steel. During this process, existing steel is melted down at a point and refined to make steel from raw materials.

Steel is mostly utilized as a support material to counter substantial low elasticity and flexibility. These steels have high ductility that allows for the redistribution of stresses. It helps to provide a warning signal before actual failure, thus, making the failure less destructible. Numerous underlying steel shapes appear as a lengthened bar having a profile of a particular cross-segment. Most structural steel shapes, such as T beams, have high second moments of area, which means they are very stiff in respect to their cross-sectional area and thus can support a high load without excessive sagging. These forms of steel are carbon steel, which contains up to 2.1% by weight. After iron, carbon is the main component. The types of structural steels are as follows:

  •  Carbon-manganese steels: the main chemical ingredients are iron, carbon, and manganese. These are typically called gentle underlying steels or carbon steels.
  •   High-strength, low alloy steels: This is a recent development in the steel industry. Chemical elements are added to improve strength.
  •   high-strength tempered and quenched alloy steels: These are used for structural purposes and are generally available for ASTM grade A514.

We are always open to assist our customers with any questions they might have regarding our services. Please GIVE US A CALL or BOOK AN APPOINTMENT to know more about the type of structural steel services you may require.
